Who I am

This website, harshmistry.dev, is run by Harsh Mistry, a freelance Shopify and WordPress developer based in Ahmedabad, India. For any question about this policy or your data, email hello@harshmistry.dev.

What I collect

When you send a message through a form on this site, I receive the details you enter: your name, email address, website URL, what you need help with, your budget range if you choose one, and your message.

If you contact me by email or WhatsApp, I receive your message and the contact details that come with it, such as your email address or phone number.

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects usage data such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. The site never asks for payment details.

How I use it

I use analytics data only to see how the site is used and improve it. I use your form details only to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and work with you if you become a client. I don't sell your details, share them for marketing, or add you to a mailing list.

For visitors in the UK and EU: I process enquiry details because you asked me to respond (steps before a possible contract) and because it's in my legitimate interest to run my business.

Services that handle your data

Form messages are delivered to my inbox by Web3Forms, a form delivery service.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site.

Google Analytics helps me understand which pages are useful. I don't use it for advertising, and you can block it with your browser's privacy settings or Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

Email is handled through Cloudflare Email Routing and Gmail, and WhatsApp messages through WhatsApp, if you choose to use them.

Cookies

This site only sets analytics cookies (from Google Analytics) after you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Your choice is saved in your browser so the banner doesn't keep appearing.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries for as long as I need them to reply. If we work together, I keep project details for the length of the project and any records my business must keep, such as invoices for tax purposes. You can ask me to delete your details at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Email hello@harshmistry.dev and I'll reply within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, for example the UK, the EU or India, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Where your data is stored

I'm based in India and work with clients worldwide. The services listed above may store data in other countries. I only use established providers that encrypt data in transit.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top of this page.
